Huge day, and pumpkins

Went to a punkin patch last Friday. So many gorgeous photos of the boy sitting on pumpkins eating big windfall Jonagolds (we were the only parents who didn't withhold apples until they were home and thoroughly washed - geez, folks, all you have to do is see the "organic" certification at the orchard entrance and look around to see that no cattle are pastured nearby, and you can stop worrying about the damn E. coli threat). The best part was when he called out to the retreating take-me-to-the-punkins wagon, "Thank you tractor, treat!"

It's been a big day around here. I am typing on our new gorgeous iMac G5 - 20" screen my word, and gorgeously white and artsy as only a Mac dares be. Only $500 cash, with a long-term but easy trade for the remaining value.

Plus, oh right I almost forgot, I testified in a murder trial for two hours this afternoon.

It's funny; as a member of a profession that is consistently misrepresented in fictional media, I assumed that absolutely nothing about a criminal trial would be the same as depicted on TV. But except for the fact that nobody there was as good-looking as on TV, it was pretty much the same, in a low-key way. The thing that struck me the most was how the people on the prosecution side wore much more expensive clothes than those on the side of the defense.
