Shortening words

Punim can manage 2 syllables at a time; if originally longer, words must be truncated to serve his purposes. Hence his dreamcatcher is pronounced "Jat-joh." His auntie's portfolio is pronounced "Whoa-cho" (lots of blowing on the "wh"). Coathanger is "nyahng-nyaw." This is all very serious work for the little guy.

He was extra sweet-looking at the playground today, in his purple H.A. jeans, his navy B.G. sneakers (white rubber toes), his dark-grass Please Mum wooly jacket, and his giant striped earflaps knit cap -- red, sky, white, and bubblegum stripes, with a red ball on top. He had that giant-baby-head look that is so adorable, and charmed a little dog named Cleo by screaming at her and patting her appropriately (only one ear grab).

Cooing in his cot, awake now.
