Gardening phase one, plus apple-eating

The other day, while identifying an apple ("A-boo; a-boo" with a little fist under the chin approximating the sign), the Punim started to really ask for it, so I handed the apple down to him. And the little cuss, who has refused regular food for so very long now, BIT INTO THE APPLE, swallowed what he bit, and kept going. He now walks around (on his toes, inexplicably, suddenly) with an apple in his hands 2 or 3 times a day, scraping microscopic bits of it into his mouth, sometimes leaving a trail of those bits on the carpet, sometimes swallowing them.

My little eater boy.

He will also ask for "yiy-yo" (Cheerios) and happily eat those while waiting for the main part of his meal to be prepared.

After meals he asks to go "ou'doh" -- outdoors, where he likes to check on the hoses and the mailbox and the little neighbor dog Emma ("MmmAA). The best part though, for him, is no longer the opening and closing of the sliding glass door, but me pulling weeds in the flower beds. He laughs like a crazy child when I start this, and if I happen to vocalize with the effort, it literally knocks him off his feet with glee. He runs to the beds, yelling "Wee? Wee? UUH!" and laughing. How can I resist him, and what sweet motivation for performing a filthy unpleasant chore!

He is SO cute in his inexplicable anime-robot / undecipherable katakana / Olympics logo sneakers. He loves to sort of run/stomp in place in them, making noise if he can or trying to distract me from telling him No.
